Fields

generation: u64

Which worker, counting from one over the pool’s whole life.

A generation rather than an index: a worker that dies is replaced, and the replacement occupying the same slot is a different process. Reusing the number would make two workers’ histories look like one’s.

served: u32

How many calls it had already served when this one arrived.

Zero for the first. What turns “worker 3 served this” into “worker 3 had already served nine other steps when it served this”, which is the question an auditor looking at a warm pool actually has.
