The loop’s timing. Default is the one place its values are written: borg mesh serve’s --interval default and the bounds of the one-shot commands (main.rs) read them from it.

Fields

interval: Duration

How often every peer is dialled when nothing changed locally (60 s). Guard: bounds how stale a node can be when a peer’s change never triggered a dial (a member’s own round failed, a change that arrived over a third node); a local change is carried at the next poll anyway.

poll: Duration

How often the local files are checked for a change to carry (2 s). Method: the polling period of a stat per synced file; a change made here is dialled within this much.

backoff_max: Duration

The longest backoff after failed dials (30 min). Guard: bounds the doubling, so a peer back after a long outage is dialled again within this much.

timeout: Duration

Longest one dial may take before it counts as a failure (30 s). Guard: a peer that accepts and never answers holds up only its own dial, and only this long.

grace: Duration

How long running sessions get to finish at a stop (5 s). Guard: Ctrl-C ends the node even when a peer’s session hangs.
