pub enum Pace {
Window,
Floor,
Rate,
}Expand description
How one sender’s tells and asks to one recipient are paced (window_for): by acknowledgements
where they can be expected, else never more strictly than 0.5.0 paced them (V1_RATE_MS).
Variants§
Window
By acknowledgements alone: a session of the sender’s own node, of a node that has acknowledged
one of the sender’s messages to it (a Seen line of that node lists one), or named without a node.
Floor
By acknowledgements, and also one per V1_RATE_MS whatever the window holds: a recipient whose
reading may write no acknowledgement. A broadcast reaches whoever runs when it is sent, which may
be nobody, and every one of them may end before its next prompt; the engineer may read where
nothing acknowledges (borg top --json, a drone’s borg top, the web page outside its messages
view, a view whose acknowledgement failed).
Rate
By V1_RATE_MS alone: a session of another node that has acknowledged none of the sender’s
messages to it. It may run 0.5.0 (borg/mesh/13), which writes no Seen line and takes one
message per rate slot (borg-mesh sync.rs v1_window); the first Seen line of its node that
lists one puts it under its window. Until then a 0.6 node’s session is paced as 0.5.0 paced it.
