A pluggable compute execution backend (VMM / container / cloudflare / docker).

The control plane only ever sees Instance/Endpoint; whether the backend runs the workload directly (VMM, container) or delegates to a platform/daemon (cloudflare, docker) is internal. The buffered result of running a one-shot command inside a running workload replica (ComputeBackend::exec). Non-streaming: stdout/stderr are captured to completion. exit_code is the command’s status (128+signal if it was killed).

Captured standard output.

stderr: Vec<u8>

Captured standard error.
