Expand description

Error categories mapped to Python HWI’s negative integer codes.

Classification depends on the operation and backend. For example, Ledger signing or address-display cancellation is reported as device failure (-13), whereas other backends use action cancellation (-14).

Variants§

§

NoDeviceType

Neither a device type nor a fingerprint was supplied (-1).

§

MissingArguments

Required arguments are missing or command-line usage is invalid (-2).

§

UnknownDevice

An explicitly addressed device type is unknown (-4).

§

BadArgument

An argument or device-refused input is invalid (-7).

§

UnsupportedCommand

The command, requested mode, or device operation is unsupported (-9).

§

DeviceFailure

A device operation failed (-13).

§

DeviceConnectionError

Device selection, connection, or an unclassified device operation failed (-3).

§

NeedToBeRoot

Installing udev rules requires root privileges (-16).

§

DeviceAlreadyInitialized

Setup was requested for an initialized device (-10).

§

DeviceAlreadyUnlocked

PIN entry was requested for an unlocked device (-11).

§

DeviceNotReady

A device requires a PIN or passphrase before it can proceed (-12).

§

DeviceNotInitialized

The device has no initialized wallet (-18).

§

HelpText

Command-line help was requested (-17).

§

ActionCanceled

The user canceled or refused an operation (-14).

§

InvalidTx

The supplied PSBT cannot be parsed (-5).
