What shape the field takes.

Editing is identical across all three — every action works on the content and a byte range, and none of them cares where the lines break. What this decides is the box: how tall it is, whether text wraps, and with that what enter and a pasted newline are allowed to mean.

Variants

Line

One line, no wrapping. enter does not insert; a pasted newline becomes a space rather than silently truncating what was pasted.

Rows(usize)

Exactly rows lines tall, wrapping, scrolling past that.

Grow

Wraps and grows with the content between min and max rows, then scrolls — the composer shape.
