What a field reports, one per user action.

gpui::Context::observe fires on every notify, which includes repaints nothing asked for — the caret’s own blink among them. A picker refiltering on those throws its cursor back to the first row twice a second. Subscribe to this instead, and take only the half you need: a picker filters on Self::Changed, a composer reading the word behind the caret wants both.
