The JWS alg for a JWT-SVID, derived from the issuer key’s catalog key type.

EdDSA is raw Ed25519 (RFC 8037); RS256 is RSASSA-PKCS1-v1_5 over SHA-256; ES256 is ECDSA P-256 over SHA-256 and ES384 is ECDSA P-384 over SHA-384, both with raw fixed-width r || s signatures. In all cases the backend signs the signing input, so the private key never leaves the vault.
