#[non_exhaustive]pub enum MacAddressError {
InvalidLength(usize),
InvalidFormat,
InvalidOctet,
}Available on crate feature
net only.Expand description
Error type for MAC address validation.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
InvalidLength(usize)
Invalid length
MAC addresses must be exactly 6 bytes (48 bits). This variant contains the actual length.
InvalidFormat
Invalid format
The MAC address string is not in a valid format. Expected format: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX or XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX
InvalidOctet
Invalid octet
One of the octets is invalid (not a valid hex value 00-FF).
