Expand description

The atmosphere fields of a dope card’s header line, DA:… ft Pressure:…/… Temp:…, for the station air the card’s rows were solved in (MBA-1593).

A solve does not always fly the air it is handed: it swaps ICAO air at the site’s altitude in for an omitted pressure or temperature, and reduces a declared QNH to station pressure (crate::atmosphere::resolve_station_conditions_with_presence; a typed value flies as typed since 0.49.0). Before 0.49.0 every card surface printed the air it was HANDED, so a card at 1500 m with no pressure or temperature read DA:0 ft Pressure:29.92/1013 Temp:59 over rows that flew 846 hPa and 5.25 °C. Each surface now states its air with Self::new and restates it with Self::as_flown.

Implementations§

Source§

impl HeaderAtmosphere

Source

pub fn new(temperature_f: f64, pressure_inhg: f64, pressure_hpa: f64) -> Self

The header for air given in the header’s own units, with that air’s density altitude from calculate_density_altitude. Both pressure figures are taken as given, since the surfaces have always derived the second from the first in their own ways.

Source

pub fn as_flown(self, supplied: (f64, f64), flown: (f64, f64)) -> Self

This header, restated for the air the solve actually flew.

supplied is the (temperature °C, pressure hPa) pair the solve was handed, which is the air self states, and flown is the pair it flew: what crate::atmosphere::resolve_station_conditions_with_presence made of supplied. A field the solve flew as supplied keeps self’s figure exactly, so sea-level and fully explicit station air print as they always have (an inHg reading is not round-tripped through hPa). A field the solve substituted is restated from flown, and the density altitude is recomputed from the result.
