Where an AtomicWriteFile write starts.

Clauses 14.2.2.2 and 14.2.2.3 give ‘File Start Position’ and ‘File Start Record’ the special value -1 to append at the end of the file; every other value is an offset from the beginning of the file.

Write at this octet or record offset, extending the file first if the offset is past the current end (Clause 14.2 Service Procedure).

Append

Write at the current end of the file.
