pub enum Mode {
Normal,
Foreign(Foreign),
Bbmd,
}Expand description
How a B/IP node takes part in its network. It is fixed for the life of
a Node; changing it means building a new one. A foreign
device can still move to another BBMD or time-to-live
(Node::retarget).
Variants§
Normal
A device on one of the network’s subnets: local broadcasts go to the subnet’s broadcast address (Annex J.4.1).
Foreign(Foreign)
A foreign device, registered with a BBMD that distributes its broadcasts and forwards it the network’s (Annex J.5).
Bbmd
A BBMD: the receive decisions hand the BBMD’s share of each message
to the caller, which runs it through bbmd::Tables.
With a multicast group as its subnet (LocalSubnet::is_group) it
serves that group (Annex J.8.3), and its BDT must say so
(Bdt::set_serves_group).
