A foreign key one of an entity’s fields holds: field (the entity’s serialized field, which is also its column) names a row of table by its column.

The generic service checks, before a write that sets the field, that the row it names is one the caller can see (see PersistentEntity::references): Postgres checks a foreign key without row-level security, so without this a request scoped to one company could point a record at another company’s row.

Fields

field: &'static str

The referencing field, by its serialized (snake_case) name; also the column.

table: &'static str

The referenced table, bare (resolved in the referencing table’s schema first) or schema-qualified.

column: &'static str

The referenced column, usually id.
