GeometryFidelity

Enum GeometryFidelity

Source
pub enum GeometryFidelity {
    Exact,
    Tessellated {
        chord_deviation_metres: f64,
    },
}
Expand description

How faithfully the measured geometry represents an object’s true shape.

Variants§

§

Exact

The mesh is the shape: every face of the object is planar.

§

Tessellated

The mesh approximates curved faces; no point of the true surface lies farther than chord_deviation_metres from the mesh.

Fields

§chord_deviation_metres: f64

Implementations§

Source§

impl GeometryFidelity

Source

pub fn tessellated(chord_deviation_metres: f64) -> Result<Self, ProximityError>

A tessellation with a declared chord deviation.

Source

pub fn is_exact(&self) -> bool

Whether measurements on this geometry are exact.

Source

pub fn deviation_metres(&self) -> f64

How far the true surface may lie from the measured mesh.

Source

pub fn combined(self, other: Self) -> Self

Fidelity of a measurement taken between two bodies.

Deviations add: each body’s true surface may sit its own deviation away from its mesh, in the direction that shortens or lengthens the gap.
