Struct aws_sdk_iotanalytics::Client
source · pub struct Client { /* private fields */ }Expand description
Client for AWS IoT Analytics
Client for invoking operations on AWS IoT Analytics. Each operation on AWS IoT Analytics is a method on this
this struct. .send() MUST be invoked on the generated operations to dispatch the request to the service.
Constructing a Client
A Config is required to construct a client. For most use cases, the aws-config
crate should be used to automatically resolve this config using
aws_config::load_from_env(), since this will resolve an SdkConfig which can be shared
across multiple different AWS SDK clients. This config resolution process can be customized
by calling aws_config::from_env() instead, which returns a ConfigLoader that uses
the builder pattern to customize the default config.
In the simplest case, creating a client looks as follows:
let config = aws_config::load_from_env().await;
let client = aws_sdk_iotanalytics::Client::new(&config);Occasionally, SDKs may have additional service-specific that can be set on the Config that
is absent from SdkConfig, or slightly different settings for a specific client may be desired.
The Config struct implements From<&SdkConfig>, so setting these specific settings can be
done as follows:
let sdk_config = ::aws_config::load_from_env().await;
let config = aws_sdk_iotanalytics::config::Builder::from(&sdk_config)
.some_service_specific_setting("value")
.build();See the aws-config docs and Config for more information on customizing configuration.
Note: Client construction is expensive due to connection thread pool initialization, and should be done once at application start-up.
Using the Client
A client has a function for every operation that can be performed by the service.
For example, the BatchPutMessage operation has
a Client::batch_put_message, function which returns a builder for that operation.
The fluent builder ultimately has a send() function that returns an async future that
returns a result, as illustrated below:
let result = client.batch_put_message()
.channel_name("example")
.send()
.await;The underlying HTTP requests that get made by this can be modified with the customize_operation
function on the fluent builder. See the customize module for more
information.
Implementations§
source§impl Client
impl Client
sourcepub fn batch_put_message(&self) -> BatchPutMessageFluentBuilder
pub fn batch_put_message(&self) -> BatchPutMessageFluentBuilder
Constructs a fluent builder for the BatchPutMessage operation.
- The fluent builder is configurable:
channel_name(impl ::std::convert::Into<String>)/set_channel_name(Option<String>):The name of the channel where the messages are sent.
messages(Vec<Message>)/set_messages(Option<Vec<Message>>):The list of messages to be sent. Each message has the format: { “messageId”: “string”, “payload”: “string”}.
The field names of message payloads (data) that you send to IoT Analytics:
-
Must contain only alphanumeric characters and undescores (). No other special characters are allowed.
-
Must begin with an alphabetic character or single underscore ().
-
Cannot contain hyphens (-).
-
In regular expression terms: “^A-Za-z_$”.
-
Cannot be more than 255 characters.
-
Are case insensitive. (Fields named foo and FOO in the same payload are considered duplicates.)
For example, {“temp_01”: 29} or {“_temp_01”: 29} are valid, but {“temp-01”: 29}, {“01_temp”: 29} or {“__temp_01”: 29} are invalid in message payloads.
-
- On success, responds with
BatchPutMessageOutputwith field(s):batch_put_message_error_entries(Option<Vec<BatchPutMessageErrorEntry>>):A list of any errors encountered when sending the messages to the channel.
- On failure, responds with

impl Client
sourcepub fn update_dataset(&self) -> UpdateDatasetFluentBuilder
pub fn update_dataset(&self) -> UpdateDatasetFluentBuilder
Constructs a fluent builder for the UpdateDataset operation.
- The fluent builder is configurable:
dataset_name(impl ::std::convert::Into<String>)/set_dataset_name(Option<String>):The name of the dataset to update.
actions(Vec<DatasetAction>)/set_actions(Option<Vec<DatasetAction>>):A list of
DatasetActionobjects.triggers(Vec<DatasetTrigger>)/set_triggers(Option<Vec<DatasetTrigger>>):A list of
DatasetTriggerobjects. The list can be empty or can contain up to fiveDatasetTriggerobjects.content_delivery_rules(Vec<DatasetContentDeliveryRule>)/set_content_delivery_rules(Option<Vec<DatasetContentDeliveryRule>>):When dataset contents are created, they are delivered to destinations specified here.
retention_period(RetentionPeriod)/set_retention_period(Option<RetentionPeriod>):How long, in days, dataset contents are kept for the dataset.
versioning_configuration(VersioningConfiguration)/set_versioning_configuration(Option<VersioningConfiguration>):Optional. How many versions of dataset contents are kept. If not specified or set to null, only the latest version plus the latest succeeded version (if they are different) are kept for the time period specified by the
retentionPeriodparameter. For more information, see Keeping Multiple Versions of IoT Analytics datasets in the IoT Analytics User Guide.late_data_rules(Vec<LateDataRule>)/set_late_data_rules(Option<Vec<LateDataRule>>):A list of data rules that send notifications to CloudWatch, when data arrives late. To specify
lateDataRules, the dataset must use a DeltaTimer filter.
- On success, responds with
UpdateDatasetOutput - On failure, responds with
SdkError<UpdateDatasetError>

sourcepub fn update_datastore(&self) -> UpdateDatastoreFluentBuilder
pub fn update_datastore(&self) -> UpdateDatastoreFluentBuilder
Constructs a fluent builder for the UpdateDatastore operation.
- The fluent builder is configurable:
datastore_name(impl ::std::convert::Into<String>)/set_datastore_name(Option<String>):The name of the data store to be updated.
retention_period(RetentionPeriod)/set_retention_period(Option<RetentionPeriod>):How long, in days, message data is kept for the data store. The retention period can’t be updated if the data store’s Amazon S3 storage is customer-managed.
datastore_storage(DatastoreStorage)/set_datastore_storage(Option<DatastoreStorage>):Where data in a data store is stored.. You can choose
serviceManagedS3storage,customerManagedS3storage, oriotSiteWiseMultiLayerStoragestorage. The default isserviceManagedS3. You can’t change the choice of Amazon S3 storage after your data store is created.file_format_configuration(FileFormatConfiguration)/set_file_format_configuration(Option<FileFormatConfiguration>):Contains the configuration information of file formats. IoT Analytics data stores support JSON and Parquet.
The default file format is JSON. You can specify only one format.
You can’t change the file format after you create the data store.
- On success, responds with
UpdateDatastoreOutput - On failure, responds with

pub fn update_pipeline(&self) -> UpdatePipelineFluentBuilder
Constructs a fluent builder for the UpdatePipeline operation.
- The fluent builder is configurable:
pipeline_name(impl ::std::convert::Into<String>)/set_pipeline_name(Option<String>):The name of the pipeline to update.
pipeline_activities(Vec<PipelineActivity>)/set_pipeline_activities(Option<Vec<PipelineActivity>>):A list of
PipelineActivityobjects. Activities perform transformations on your messages, such as removing, renaming or adding message attributes; filtering messages based on attribute values; invoking your Lambda functions on messages for advanced processing; or performing mathematical transformations to normalize device data.The list can be 2-25
PipelineActivityobjects and must contain both achanneland adatastoreactivity. Each entry in the list must contain only one activity. For example:pipelineActivities = [ { “channel”: { … } }, { “lambda”: { … } }, … ]
