#[non_exhaustive]pub enum ProgrammingLanguage {
Java,
Javascript,
Python,
Unknown(UnknownVariantValue),
}Expand description
When writing a match expression against ProgrammingLanguage, it is important to ensure
your code is forward-compatible. That is, if a match arm handles a case for a
feature that is supported by the service but has not been represented as an enum
variant in a current version of SDK, your code should continue to work when you
upgrade SDK to a future version in which the enum does include a variant for that
feature.
Here is an example of how you can make a match expression forward-compatible:
# let programminglanguage = unimplemented!();
match programminglanguage {
ProgrammingLanguage::Java => { /* ... */ },
ProgrammingLanguage::Javascript => { /* ... */ },
ProgrammingLanguage::Python => { /* ... */ },
other @ _ if other.as_str() == "NewFeature" => { /* handles a case for `NewFeature` */ },
_ => { /* ... */ },
}The above code demonstrates that when programminglanguage represents
NewFeature, the execution path will lead to the second last match arm,
even though the enum does not contain a variant ProgrammingLanguage::NewFeature
in the current version of SDK. The reason is that the variable other,
created by the @ operator, is bound to
ProgrammingLanguage::Unknown(UnknownVariantValue("NewFeature".to_owned()))
and calling as_str on it yields "NewFeature".
This match expression is forward-compatible when executed with a newer
version of SDK where the variant ProgrammingLanguage::NewFeature is defined.
Specifically, when programminglanguage represents NewFeature,
the execution path will hit the second last match arm as before by virtue of
calling as_str on ProgrammingLanguage::NewFeature also yielding "NewFeature".
Explicitly matching on the Unknown variant should
be avoided for two reasons:
- The inner data
UnknownVariantValueis opaque, and no further information can be extracted. - It might inadvertently shadow other intended match arms.
The programming language of the instrumentation point. Java, Python, and JavaScript are currently supported.
Variants (Non-exhaustive)§
This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Java

Unknown(UnknownVariantValue)
Don’t directly match on Unknown. See the docs on this enum for the correct way to handle unknown variants.
Unknown contains new variants that have been added since this code was generated.
Implementations§
Source§impl ProgrammingLanguage
impl ProgrammingLanguage
Sourcepub fn try_parse(value: &str) -> Result<Self, UnknownVariantError>
pub fn try_parse(value: &str) -> Result<Self, UnknownVariantError>
Parses the enum value while disallowing unknown variants.
Unknown variants will result in an error.

Source§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};

Enables the styling Attribute value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example

pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():

👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().

Source§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the Condition value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);
