Message sent from the Claude background thread to the UI.

Variants

Spawning

Claude subprocess is being spawned (US-009: Loading and Error States). Sent immediately before attempting to spawn, so UI can show “Starting Claude…” indicator.

Started

Claude has started successfully and is ready to receive input.

Output(String)

A chunk of text output from Claude.

ResponsePaused

Claude has paused (no output for a while, likely waiting for user input). This is used to turn off the typing indicator in multi-turn conversations.

Finished

Claude has finished (successfully or with an error). This is only sent when the process actually terminates.

success: bool

Whether Claude exited successfully.

error: Option<String>

Error message if applicable.

SpawnError(String)

Claude subprocess encountered an error during spawn.
