Admission currently requires an exact version match. A future compatible range can be introduced deliberately without silently accepting a peer that may interpret lifecycle messages differently.

V3 retains V2’s authenticated-peer-scoped idempotency contract and adds connection-owned cancellation and lease renewal. A V3 request must be handled by the session driver; it must never fall back to V1 execution.
