Expand description

Request to spawn a named computation on a remote node.

Contains all information needed to start a remote task:

  • What to run (computation name + serialized inputs)
  • Who is asking (origin node, region, task)
  • How long to keep it alive (lease)
  • Deduplication key (idempotency)

§Idempotency

The idempotency_key ensures exactly-once execution. If the remote node receives a duplicate SpawnRequest (same key), it returns the existing SpawnAck without re-executing.

Fields§

§remote_task_id: RemoteTaskId

Unique identifier for this remote task.

§computation: ComputationName

Name of the computation to execute.

§input: RemoteInput

Serialized input data.

§lease: Duration

Requested lease duration.

§idempotency_key: IdempotencyKey

Idempotency key for deduplication.

§budget: Option<Budget>

Budget constraints for the remote task (optional).

§origin_node: NodeId

Node that originated the request.

§origin_region: RegionId

Region that owns the remote task on the originator.

§origin_task: TaskId

Task that spawned the remote task on the originator.
