Metadata stored alongside each snapshot on disk.

Fields§

§id: String

Unique snapshot identifier.

§vm_id: String

VM identifier this snapshot belongs to.

§name: Option<String>

Optional human-readable label.

§labels: HashMap<String, String>

Arbitrary key-value metadata, used for filtering in ListSnapshots.

serde(default) so snapshots catalogued before labels existed still load (they read back as unlabelled).

§snapshot_type: SnapshotType§vmstate_path: PathBuf

Absolute path to the vmstate file.

§mem_path: Option<PathBuf>

Absolute path to the memory file (full snapshots only).

§created_at: DateTime<Utc>

When the snapshot was created.

§parent_id: Option<String>

Parent snapshot ID (diff chain).

§kernel_path: Option<String>

Host-absolute kernel path (required for jailer-mode restore staging).

§rootfs_path: Option<String>

Host-absolute rootfs path (required for jailer-mode restore staging).

§net_invariant: bool

Whether the origin guest ran the fixed invariant network identity (CORE-81): eth0 on the constant link-local address with the constant gateway, external identity applied host-side per TAP. A restore of such a snapshot needs zero guest-side network work. serde(default) so legacy snapshots read back false and keep the reconfig-RPC path.

§geometry: Option<SnapshotGeometry>

Capture-time VM geometry. serde(default) so legacy metas read back None (consumers that need it reject with an actionable error).

§format: String

The checkpoint image’s on-disk format, named by the driver that wrote it — a restore hands the image only to a driver that names the same format. Defaults to LEGACY_FORMAT for entries catalogued before the field existed.
