credentialStatus.statusPurpose, a closed set of exactly one member (§6.3.3.5).

"suspension" is deliberately absent: suspension is reversible and §6.3.2 forbids re-activation, so admitting it would put a lifecycle in the transport that the mandate itself does not have.

Modelled as an enum for a security reason §6.3.3.5 states outright: a verifier MUST NOT read a purpose it does not recognize as “no status claim was made”, because a producer could then disable the check on any verifier by writing a word that verifier has never seen. An enum makes that opt-out unconstructible — the envelope fails to parse at all.
