Averaging mode for NER metrics.
Following seqeval conventions:
- Micro: Calculate metrics globally by counting total TP, FP, FN (default, recommended)
- Macro: Calculate metrics per test case, then average (gives equal weight to each case)
- Weighted: Like macro, but weighted by support (number of expected entities per case)
Variants§
Micro
Calculate globally: total_correct / total_predicted (default, standard for NER)
Macro
Average per-case metrics (equal weight to each test case, regardless of size)
Weighted
Average per-case metrics weighted by support (number of expected entities)
