Vp9SideData

VP9 in Matroska or WebM with alpha_mode 1: the alpha plane is a second VP9 stream in block additions, readable only by libvpx’s decoder.

HevcAuxiliaryLayer

HEVC with an auxiliary alpha layer (Apple’s HEVC with alpha). No supported decoder reads it, so the base layer decodes opaque.

Planar

A pixel format with an alpha plane (ProRes 4444, PNG, QuickTime Animation).
