This describes the planning-time representation of file entries. The lower-level reads performed by the selected Parquet backend are not described here.

Variants

FullFiles

Source entries describe whole files.

CoalescedFullFiles

Byte ranges were safely coalesced back to whole-file reads.

RowGroupSelection

Byte-ranged source entries are represented by explicit row-group selections on whole-file local reads.

Rejected

Byte ranges remain and are not supported by the native source.
