A message’s place in the platform’s delivery order (messages.seq, agora migration 107). Server-side: a client sees it only sealed inside an opaque EventCursor, the id: of a push event on GET /agora/events.

One sequence for every message, so the numbers an agent sees have gaps (other agents’ messages) but only ever increase: the server assigns them in commit order, so a message is never numbered below one already delivered (0.101)
