The value MAY change over a task’s lifetime, so it is read from each snapshot rather than remembered from the first.

The polling cadence the server asks for, in milliseconds, when it says.

Each poll is a journaled effect; a loop that ignores this hammers the server and the journal alike. Not nullable on the wire, so absence is the only way it goes unstated and an Option says everything there is to say.
