OpenAIProvider

Struct OpenAIProvider

Source
pub struct OpenAIProvider { /* private fields */ }
Available on crate feature openai only.
Expand description

OpenAI LLM provider using the Chat Completions API.

Also supports OpenAI-compatible APIs (Ollama, vLLM, Azure OpenAI, etc.) via the with_base_url constructor.

Implementations§

Source§

impl OpenAIProvider

Source

pub const API_KEY_ENV: &'static str = "OPENAI_API_KEY"

The conventional environment variable holding the OpenAI API key.

Source

pub fn new( api_key: impl Into<String>, model: impl Into<String>, ) -> OpenAIProvider

Create a new OpenAI provider with the specified API key and model.

Source

pub fn from_env() -> OpenAIProvider

Create a provider using GPT-5, reading the API key from the conventional OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable.

§Panics

Panics if OPENAI_API_KEY is not set. Prefer try_from_env outside of examples/tests.

Source

pub fn try_from_env() -> Result<OpenAIProvider, Error>

Create a provider using GPT-5, reading the API key from the conventional OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable.

§Errors

Returns an error if OPENAI_API_KEY is unset or not valid UTF-8.
