Configuration for retry behavior on transient errors.

Connectivity loss is handled outside this budget: when a streaming call fails at the transport layer and the provider’s reachability probe reports it unreachable, the runtime waits — probing for free, without dispatching billable calls — until connectivity returns or the run is cancelled, however long that takes. max_retries only bounds failures that happen while the provider stays reachable (rate limits, server errors, and repeated mid-stream deaths on a reachable path).

Maximum delay cap in milliseconds
