IssueOutcome

Enum IssueOutcome

Source
pub enum IssueOutcome {
    Issued(String),
    Processing,
}
Expand description

What SignerBackend::issue produced: a certificate, or a promise of one.

A backend that signs locally answers synchronously with Issued. A backend that delegates over the network answers Processing and finishes the work in the background, because holding the finalize request open for an upstream CA’s own validation cycle could take minutes — RFC 8555 §7.4 has the processing order status for exactly this, and the client polls.

Variants§

§

Issued(String)

A finished PEM chain (leaf followed by the issuer).

§

Processing

The backend accepted the request and will update the Order itself (via Order::finalize/Order::mark_invalid) once it resolves. The handler moves the order to processing and returns it as-is.
