A field name or a value, as it is stored.

Both sides of a pair are the same thing to a listpack, which stores something that looks like an integer as an integer. HSET h f 42 and HSET h f 042 hold different bytes and both answer with what went in, and the formatting happens once, into the reply buffer, the way Y18 asks.
