Truly externalize the descriptor’s object table into <field_root>/share.
Reuses the Phase-9 mechanism unchanged: every object’s bytes are put into the
content-addressed store and the entry becomes an ObjectSource::External
reference, so materialize_with(descriptor, &store) resolves it and stays
byte-identical. Returns the number of object-table entries externalized.
