The columns the actions of a MERGE supply, as merge_target_columns finds them, for a target whose columns target_columns lists in order.

merge_target_columns

The columns a MERGE supplies, as PostgreSQL records them in its target’s insertedCols and updatedCols: those each INSERT action fills and those each UPDATE action sets.
