Packing: enumerate → (invert containers) → chunk → dedup → group into blocks → compress → seal → stream to disk. Memory stays bounded by the block size and the chunk index: file contents are chunked with a streaming FastCDC reader, unique chunks are compressed in blocks and written as soon as a batch is ready, and only container files (which need preflate) are held in memory.
The output is deterministic for identical inputs and options when keep_mtime and timestamp
are off and no encryption is used (encryption adds a random archive key).
Structs§
Functions§
- collect_
inputs - Collect (filesystem path, archive name) pairs from files and directories, sorted by name.
- collect_
inputs_ noting - Like
collect_inputs, also returning the symbolic links that were skipped. Links found inside a directory are never followed: their targets may lie outside the inputs and a directory link can loop. An input named explicitly on the command line is followed, because that is what the caller asked for. Links are never recreated on extraction (docs/V1-CONTRACT.md). - pack
- Pack
inputs(files or directories) intoout_path.
Type Aliases§
