Maximum encoded/framed frame size including the 0x00 frame delimiter.

Sized to accommodate a fully-serialized Request or Response with a maximum-length payload, plus framing overhead. For MAX_PAYLOAD_SIZE = 256, a full serialized Request is at most ~264 bytes.

  • COBS worst-case: ceil(264 / 254) ≈ 2 bytes overhead + 1 byte delimiter → 267 bytes total.
  • rzCOBS worst-case: 264 + ceil(264 / 7) + 1 = 264 + 38 + 1 = 303 bytes (per max_rzcobs_encoding_length) + 1 byte delimiter → 304 bytes total.

We round up to 512 to give headroom and match the RTT buffer size.
