Run the run loop until ready holds, or limit seconds have passed.
The capture paths used to sleep a fixed 0.45–0.7s each, long enough for the slowest case. Most are ready in a fraction of that, and with sixty on-screen variants in the suite the difference is most of a minute. The timeout keeps the old behaviour as the worst case rather than the every case.
