Which algorithm, and the parameters that go with it.
The identifier is kept as it was encoded and is not interpreted here. What may be verified with a key, and how, belongs to the algorithm registry; this layer’s job is to hand that registry exactly what the certificate said, including parameters it does not understand.
Modules§
- digest
- Which digest an ASN.1
AlgorithmIdentifiernames, resolved once for OCSP, CMS and every other ASN.1 consumer. - ml_dsa
- Pure ML-DSA identities and wire sizes, without a cryptographic engine.
- pss
- Borrowed RSASSA-PSS parameters, without selecting a cryptographic provider.
- signature
- Original signature algorithm structure, without provider or policy selection.
Structs§
- Algorithm
Identifier - An algorithm and its parameters, as the certificate wrote them.
- Algorithm
Reading - Original algorithm fields plus a recoverable parameter-syntax diagnostic.
Functions§
- read
- Reads an algorithm identifier from an element a schema said is one.
- read_
implicit - Reads an original
[number] IMPLICIT AlgorithmIdentifierwithout retagging. - read_
implicit_ inspection - Original IMPLICIT counterpart of
read_inspection, sharing the same kernel. - read_
inspection - Inspects a uniquely shaped identifier while retaining parameter syntax faults.
