ObjectDigestProvider

Trait ObjectDigestProvider

Source
pub trait ObjectDigestProvider<'p>: AsnDigest<'p> {
    // Required method
    fn validate_public_key<W: Work>(
        &self,
        key: WorkingKey<'_>,
        work: &W,
    ) -> Result<Resolution<()>, Self::Error>;
}
Expand description

The selected digest provider’s representation check, before key hashing.

It must validate the original key and effective parameters against its algorithm’s encoding rules (RFC3279 §2.3 and applicable updates, e.g. RFC5480), using the existing shared key readers. DER framing alone does not validate RSA/DSA/EC/DH/KEA payloads or repair invalid written parameters. Unsupported algorithms/policy remain Unsupported, never a digest mismatch. This is the same provider’s narrow capability, not an implicit engine. All transitive work/storage is admitted in the supplied execution; key mathematics, strength and authenticated proof-of-possession remain separate.

Required Methods§

Source

fn validate_public_key<W: Work>( &self, key: WorkingKey<'_>, work: &W, ) -> Result<Resolution<()>, Self::Error>

Check algorithm-specific wire representation and effective parameters.

Dyn Compatibility§

This trait is not dyn compatible.

In older versions of Rust, dyn compatibility was called "object safety".
