Where a source path recorded in an artifact might be on disk.
A compiler writes the path it was given, which is relative to the directory the compilation ran in — usually a project root, with the artifacts a few directories below it. So the artifact directory is tried first, then its ancestors, then the path as given, which resolves against the directory soldb runs in.
