Read one platform subtree from a complete generated set.

Returned paths are relative to the platform directory. Every path component is checked again immediately before reading, so a modified cache cannot redirect packaging through a symlink.

Errors

Returns a typed error when the cache is incomplete, unsafe, or unreadable.
