Displaying node lists in LuaTeX’s formats (TeX: The Program §173–§198, §218–§219, §986).
LuaTeX’s box display differs from TeX82’s in several places, all
established by running luatex on test documents:
- boxes end with
, direction TLT(and so on); a shrinking glue set is printed asglue set - 1.0; - user kerns print as
\kern3.0, font kerns as\kern-1.11113 (font), italic corrections as\kern2.0 (italic)and accent kerns as\kern0.0 (accent); - a discretionary prints
\discretionary (penalty 50), followed by its pre-break, post-break and replacement lists, each line prefixed by the nesting string followed by.<,.>or.=; - ligatures print their character and
(ligature …)with the components; - local paragraph nodes print
\localparand four indented lines; direction nodes print\begindir TRT/\enddir TRT; boundaries print\boundary=7,\noboundary,\wordboundary=0,\protrusionboundary=5; - the short display (used by overfull/underfull box warnings and
\tracingparagraphs) prints a space for any glue that is not zero, and a discretionary’s pre- and post-break texts.
