Building math lists (TeX: The Program §1136–§1206, with e-TeX’s
\middle and LuaTeX’s extensions).
A formula is read into an mlist of noads (see crate::nodes), which
crate::mlist converts into an hlist when the formula ends. LuaTeX
differences implemented here (established with black-box tests):
- there is no “insufficient symbol fonts” check;
\mathchar,\Umathcharand math characters given by\mathchardefare accepted in horizontal mode, where they typeset the character from the text font of the family (vertical mode starts a paragraph);- the
Missing delimiterhelp text has no full stop after “proceed”; - the
\Umath…variants (\Uradical,\Uroot,\Umathaccent,\Uleft,\Uskewed,\Ustack,\Usuperscript, …) are supported with their keywords.
