What a build’s metadata callback may return.

A Vec<u8> is the payload verbatim — the common case (no metadata, or a payload that carries no counts). DeferredMetadata is a payload that does carry counts: the callback derives everything it needs while the source quads are still resident, and returns a finalizer that the writer calls with the FinalCounts, which only exist once the indexes have deduplicated the input. Without that second stage a card can only report the ingested count, which over-reports any input containing duplicates.
