pub enum BuildError {
KindMissing,
PayloadTooLarge {
encoded_len: usize,
max: u32,
},
FlagsNotAllowedForKind {
kind: MessageKind,
flags: u8,
},
}Expand description
Errors surfaced at build() time so they fail at construction
rather than at encode time, where the call site has already lost
the context to recover.
Distinct from crate::redwire::codec::FrameError, which covers
decode-side framing errors. The split keeps producer-side
invariants (this) separate from consumer-side parsing (that).
Variants§
KindMissing
kind() was never called — a frame has no default kind so
the builder refuses to guess.
PayloadTooLarge
The encoded frame would exceed MAX_FRAME_SIZE.
FlagsNotAllowedForKind
Catalog cross-check failed: the requested flag set isn’t in
MessageKind::allowed_flags() for the chosen kind.
