Runtime configuration.

All of these can be overridden via env vars or CLI flags. Sensible defaults make the binary runnable with just RECURSIVE_API_KEY and RECURSIVE_MODEL set.

default_system_prompt

load_project_context

Load project context from the workspace root, merging AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md when present.

load_project_memory

Load project-local memory (agent-writable) from workspace/.recursive/memory/project.md.

load_user_memory

Load user-global memory from ~/.recursive/memory/user.md. Returns None if the file doesn’t exist. Caps at 8KB.

prepend_project_context

Prepend the project context block (AGENTS.md + CLAUDE.md) to base, separated by a horizontal rule. Returns base unchanged when neither file exists. Used at every agent-construction entry point (CLI run, MCP, HTTP API, TUI) so all paths see the same project context regardless of which surface launched the agent.
