Whether the page renders onto a transparent background rather than white.

This is not whether the page declares a /Group. It is whether any /ExtGState on the page, or in a form it draws, names a blend mode above Multiply — the ones that read the backdrop. A page carrying a plain /Group still renders onto opaque white.
