Layer 1b — dense SquareMatrix with direct (LU) solve.
Dense square-matrix linear algebra.
Provides SquareMatrix, a row-major n×n matrix of f64 with in-place
LU decomposition (Crout, scaled partial pivoting) and back-substitution — the
direct linear solver used by the stiff ODE solver and other kernels. Failure
to solve is reported through MatrixError. Entries are bare f64; the
matrix carries no unit information.
