Layer 1f — one-dimensional data interpolation (linear and spline).
One-dimensional table interpolation over sorted (xs, ys) samples.
Ports the OpenFOAM interpolateXY / interpolateSplineXY helpers:
interpolate_xy (piecewise-linear) and
interpolate_spline_xy
(Catmull-Rom cubic). Both assume xs is sorted ascending and clamp to the
endpoint value outside the table range. Abscissae and ordinates are bare
f64 in the caller’s own units.
