The encoding format determines which variant is used:

  • JSON format: Returns the certificate as a structured object with internally tagged format
  • BCS format: Returns the certificate as a hex-encoded string

Variants§

Bcs

Certificate as a BCS hex-encoded string (encoding=bcs)

Example:

Json

Certificate as a structured JSON object (encoding=json)

The certificate is returned with internally tagged format, containing a “type” field that can be either “Genesis” or “Epoch”.
