pub fn node_hash(address: &str) -> [u8; 8]Expand description
The digest of an address that a device advertises over Bluetooth LE: the first eight bytes of SHA-256 over the address string.
It exists so a scanner can name the advertiser of a reading. Without it iOS rarely can: a link runs under one CoreBluetooth identifier, and an Android peer re-advertises from a new address on every link change, so its advertisements soon match no link the iPhone holds. It is matched only against peers that already proved their address on a link, so it never names anyone new.
