Compute directional (anisotropic) variogram

Computes experimental variogram for a specific direction, useful for detecting directional trends in spatial correlation.

§Arguments

  • coordinates - Spatial coordinates (must be 2D)
  • values - Observed values
  • direction - Direction angle in radians (0 = East, π/2 = North)
  • tolerance - Angular tolerance in radians
  • n_lags - Number of lag bins

§Returns

  • Tuple of (lag distances, variogram values)
